Disulfonated xantphos for mass spectrometric mechanistic analysis

چکیده
Xantphos is a wide bite angle bisphosphine ligand that finds application in catalysis. Tracking its behavior during reactions under realistic reaction conditions can be difficult at low concentrations, and although electrospray ionization mass spectrometry (ESI-MS) effective real-time monitoring of catalytic reactions, it only observe ions. Accordingly, we experimented with the dianionic disulfonated version xantphos as charged tag for mechanistic analysis. It proved to behave exactly hoped, providing good intensity enabled direct study both an initial binding event (to copper, very fast) subsequent transfer another metal (palladium). Its nature makes especially promising which metals change charge state, because cationic complex anionic invisible zwitterion, whereas would instead make same appear due overall ?1. As such, holds genuine promise probe real time analysis using spectrometry.

Mass Spectrometric Analysis of Glycosphingolipid Antigens
Glycosphingolipids (GSL's) belong to the glycoconjugate class of biomacromolecules, which bear structural information for significant biological processes such as embryonic development, signal transduction, and immune receptor recognition(1-2). They contain complex sugar moieties in the form of isomers, and lipid moieties with variations including fatty acyl chain length, unsaturation, and hydr...

This thesis consists of five parts. In the first part, an automated method for quantitative analysis of phospholipid compositions of cells and tissues by liquid chromatographymass spectrometry was developed. In the second part, this method was applied to investigate brain lipid compositions of patients with progressive epilepsy with mental retardation (EPMR), caused by mutations in the CLN8 gen...
متن کاملMass spectrometric analysis of glucose-modified ribonuclease.
RNase A (1 mM) was incubated with glucose (0.4 M) at 37 degrees C for up to 14 days in phosphate buffer (0.2 M, pH 7.4), digested with trypsin and analysed by LC-MS. The major sites of fructoselysine formation were Lys(1), Lys(7), Lys(37) and Lys(41). Three of these sites (Lys(7), Lys(37) and Lys(41)) were also the major sites of N epsilon-(carboxymethyl)lysine formation.
متن کاملMass spectrometric analysis of protein–ligand interactions
The interactions of small molecules with proteins (protein-ligand interactions) mediate various biological phenomena including signal transduction and protein transcription and translation. Synthetic compounds such as drugs can also bind to target proteins, leading to the inhibition of protein-ligand interactions. These interactions typically accompany association-dissociation equilibrium accor...
متن کاملDirect ionization of biological tissue for mass spectrometric analysis.
Analysis of biological tissue at a molecular level is of great importance in biological, medical and clinical studies. In this manuscript, we report that both plant and animal tissues can be directly ionized and analyzed by mass spectrometry under ambient conditions. By adding some solvents and applying a high voltage, spray ionization can be induced at the tip of biological tissue and a mass s...
